Volunteering

VOLUNTEERING

Would you like to get involved and help with practical nature conservation projects at Parc Bryn Bach?

Each week we have a volunteer day that allows visitors to help us to maintain and improve the biodiversity of our park, which is a designated Local Nature Reserve and a Green Flag award-winning greenspace.

Volunteer Days run every Monday from 10.30am – 1.30pm throughout the autumn, with participants meeting at the visitor centre before the start of the session.

The last volunteer session of 2024 will be held on 9th December 2024, where there will be a short break for the festive period. The sessions will resume on 13th January 2025.

During these weekly sessions volunteers work alongside the park’s grounds team, Blaenau Gwent Council’s Ecologist and Countryside Rangers and in partnership with Groundworks Wales on a range of supervised activities.

Activities may include:

  • Woodland Maintenance (including felling/coppicing)

  • Pond Scraping

  • Building Hibernaculum

  • Maintenance of Planted Areas

  • Tree Planting

  • Litter Picking
