As an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards we can help you to organise your expeditions on land or water, from walking and biking to canoeing and kayaking, we can take you almost anywhere in Great Britain, and even further afield to Europe or Canada.

At Parc Bryn Bach we have over 10 years’ experience of delivering structured outdoor activity programmes that can be tailored to suit the needs and abilities of a wide range of participants, from school groups to businesses.

Our highly trained and experienced adventure activity staff can provide all levels of Duke of Edinburgh’s award from Bronze to Gold, offering as much or as little support and guidance as you need, whether that’s to learn new skills, plan your expedition, organise a residential or achieve your Duke Of Edinburgh award.
All our activities are approved by AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) to ensure safety and quality of service, which includes the provision of all safety equipment. Our dedicated team of adventure activity instructors will ensure that your group have a safe and enjoyable experience as they work toward their Duke of Edinburgh Award, providing lots of great memories for years to come.

Training course for D of E leaders PLUS Mountain Training Hill Skills Course

This course has been developed to provide school teachers, youth leaders or anyone involved with the delivery of the D of E. During the course we will provide you with the training and up to date knowledge of what to teach and the topics to cover with D of E candidates. As part of the course we will also cover the mountain training approved Hill skills course so that leaders will have a greater understanding of what to teach and improve personal skills. At the end of the course you will be provided with teaching cards and detailed information of how to structure the training so that your D of E groups will be better equipped to progress through the D of E scheme.

Prerequisites: Interest in leading D of E within the Schools

Duration: 3 Day Course

Maximum Group Size: 10

Age: 16 plus

Bronze, Silver or Gold Award Practice Expedition

Whichever level of award you are working towards, this course will offer you the training and skills required for you leading up to your final expedition assessment. The course will be delivered by very experienced instructors who have many years’ experience training and assessing groups. At the end of the course participants will be given feedback and issued with detailed information on how to progress through the award.

Location: Brecon Beacons

Duration:
Half day workshop practice before each practice expedition for each award plus the following :
• Bronze 2 days 1 night
• Silver 3 days 2 nights
• Gold 4 days 3 nights

Maximum Group Size: 7 (minimum 4)

Age: 14 plus

Cost:
Bronze level £75 per person (Based on min of 4 participants)
Silver level £115 per person (Based on a min of 4 participants)
Gold level £150 per person (Based on a min of 4 participants)

Bronze, Silver or gold award qualifying expedition

At Parc Bryn Bach we have a vast amount of experience delivering and assessing the award at all levels, the expedition will be remotely supervised by us. This requires a thorough knowledge of the areas used for expedition and judgement to ensure that you have the best chance of success.
