Parc Bryn Bach is ideally located to access local caves, during the day you will explore underground caving passages, follow stream ways, phreatic tubes, squeeze past boulders, undertake challenges such as the cheese press, letterbox, washing machine to name a few. Along the way learn about cave formations, cave life and stories of exploration. A trip not to be missed!

Prerequisites: No experience necessary

Location: Trip 1- Porth yr Ogof

A introduction  in to caving with a trip into one of the most popular systems in Wales. This trip will give a great insight into the world beneath our feet, the local geology and how you can potentially challenge yourself.

This cave is fantastic for a first trip as it has so much to offer, from chambers big enough to park our bus to more optional challenging squeezes.

Trip 2- Eglwys Faen

Based along the Llangattock escarpment overlooking the picturesque town Crickhowell and the Black Mountains lies Eglwys Faen. With some fantastic history itself this cave sits between some of the biggest systems in the country, this cave has a completely new feel as it is sat right up on the hillside this cave is what’s known as a fossil cave. With a dramatically big chamber and a challenge known as the cheese press you are sure to have a great day.

Trip 3- Bridge Cave and White Lady

Two separate shorter caves seated in the valley of the Afon Nedd Fechan are a great way to step up your caving experience, both having a slightly more adventurous feel to them.

Trip 4- Little Neath River Cave

Regarded as one of the prettiest caves in the country the Little Neath River Cave is a real day out with over 8 kilometres of cave passage. Located in the river bed above Bridge cave is the challenging flooded entrance of Little Neath, taking you on a journey you will never forget visiting sections of the cave like the duck, the canal, mud chamber and the bouncing boulder hall with rock boulders bigger than your car.

Just been caving with these guys and I thought they’d never get me into cave, but I felt so safe with them, it turned out to be an awesome experience. Crawling through water with inches above my head, being lifted into passages in the cave roof and crawling along to come out of a hole at the other end- amazing. I really pushed myself today. Thanks guys you are fabulous.
